This summer, around 120 young Europeans from 15 different countries will participate in
Creativity.cat, Act for Interculturality, which is the main artistic meeting for the youth at a continental level.
Neagènia Intercultural, partner of
iwith.org, is going to coordinate this meeting, which gathers participants aged from 18 to 30 years, with the aim of encouraging creativity, interculturality and public-spirited participation.
Last September Iwith.org welcomed one of our beneficiaries,

We thank the participants and congratulate readers who believed in the importance of our initiative that the internet is also a vehicle of culture.

Concerned with the lower and lower and less effective international contribution to development the Spanish United Nations Association, ANUE, organized in Barcelona the course ‘Tools for Development: Improving Aid for Africa’ with the purpose of launching a new model of International Contribution to Development that makes the most of the aid given. Among the speakers were Iwith.org and many of its beneficiaries.
Following its successes in July this year, Avalon is now offering new courses on the methods of communication that have emerged with new technologoy and the opportunities they represent for the third sector. iwith.org is participating as a trainer in a practial workshop.
Iwith.org, via Reursa, one of its beneficiaries, has managed to get computers that will be able to bring the ICT to the North of Africa via a solidarity caravan, which will visit Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal and Gambia.
The idea emerged as a result of the recent assessment of development assistance undertaken by the United Nations in Spain, ANUE. The course is oriented around case examples from Africa and includes some practical workshops to facilitate its understanding. ANUE is one of our organization beneficiaries and Ramon Bartemeus, Resource manager of Iwith.org will be facilitating one of the course workshops.
This programme is the only one exclusively devoted to the management and resolution of public conflicts by all kind of institutions and entities, companies, mass media, etc with different scopes of actions such as partipipation and safety among others.
This 15th October 2008 is the Blog Action Day!. This year the topic for all podcasters, videoscasters y blogers can speak at length is Poverty. Organizers hope that for one day all of them, could leave their regular work to raise from different perspectives, a debate on this issue.
Our organization will attend and display a poster. It will demonstrate our confidence in reducing the digital divide through access to new technologies and education.
Xarxanet.org provides international information of Catalans NGOs on activities and best practices of associations, through their Castilian, English and French versions. Iwith.org manages subportales Xarxanet.org of Civil Society, a site created by and for civil society, the most visited sections of Xarxanet in June. The number of visits they received shows the interest that exists in the world of associations, to know best practices and opportunities for international presence in the world.
They are two organizations that work with new technology and in the virtual domain. Both believe in the "developing" power of TICs and as such, they have collaborated to give life to interesting projects and future opportunities.
Since 2001,
Avalon has been organizing initiatives for associations. Now it is offering new courses aimed at learning the opportunities that the new channels of communication represent for the Third Sector. Iwith.org will participate as a Trainer for one of them.

This 29th of May 2008 on the garage of Palau Robert, the second edition of the Third Sector and New Technologies conferences will take part. They are organized by SISOSCAT and this year are aimed to third sector entities having among their beneficiaries the dropout collectives or on risk to be socially excluded, mainly on Catalonia but also on any place on Earth. Sisoscat works everyday to diminish the digital breach, both by training and donating equipment.

We have used the Internet to learn more about Ronald Castillo Florián, the winner of our Books 2008 Competition. The author already has experience using the Internet to promote his work; in fact he has a
blog which he updates daily.
The collection of poems by Ronald Franklin Castillo Florian, from Peru, has been the most downloaded book in the 2008 contest. As of 12 o'clock on 22 April there were more than two thousand clicks to download one of the 23 works posted on our web site. Once again, we would like to thank the authors for their generosity and trust and the readers for their faith in the project.
For the first time, human rights were analysed from the voices of their actors, a fact made possible by the meeting organised by ADANE and CEA in Barcelona.

A Spanish NGO, and
Iwith.org partner, has decided to offer, via photographs and other medium available on the Internet and the
Ab·core platform, to raise awareness about oil and timber interest on the Amazon region in Ecuador.
Whichever book receives most downloads between now and the 22nd of April will be accredited with
Iwith.org's international book-day prize. The objective of which is to contribute to a useful online culture.
Our NGO has been invited by the Global Alliance for the Information and Communication Technologies and Development (GAID), an initiative approved by the General Secretary of the UN in 2006. The alliance responds to the need and demand created by different actors of an inclusive global forum and a platform for the dialogue on the use of the ICT (Information and Communication Technologies). Through this dialogue it is expected to meet the internationally agreed objectives for development and its subsequent reduction in poverty.
